The Waterloo Farm is located approximately 23 miles south of Deming, NM at the intersection of NM-11 and Waterloo Rd. The elevation of the farm is approximately 4,130 ft. The Waterloo Farm consists of +/-757 aces of drip irrigated farm land. There is +/- 108 AC of additional farm land with water rights that is not currently in production. The farm also includes +/-3.58 AC of residential lands and +/-551 AC of other range land. The total acreage of the farm is +/-1419.58 AC.
The drip system for the farm includes 5 filter stations that are in good condition. The filter stations are each enclosed within structures. There are currently a total of 13 wells on the farm, 9 of which are currently in use. The wells are turbine wells powered by electricity with the exception of one well driven by a diesel engine. The depths of the wells range from +/-200 ft to +/-750 ft. The drill date of the wells range from 1957-1991.
The farm has been utilized to grow a wide variety of crops throughout the years. These crops have included beans, onions, watermelon, chile, cotton, alfalfa, corn, and other varieties. Currently the farm is planted predominantly in alfalfa and wheat for forage hay.Long staple cotton will be planted in May, and melons in June.
The farm has three homes and multiple outbuildings. The main home is brick, has 3 bedrooms, is approximately 2000 SF and has been recently remodeled. It is situated separate from the farm HQ where the second home is located. The second home is approximately 2160 SF, is adobe, has recently been remodeled and contains the farm office. There is a third home that has been partially updated that is located west of the headquarters.
The HQ also contains a +/-1,200 SF adobe shop, +/-5,000 SF equipment storage building, +/-900 SF equipment storage building, and a +/-7,000 SF hay storage building. These structures are in good condition. There are a set of livestock corrals on the south end of the property along with a set of five silos for grain storage, equipped with high capacity fans for drying.
